Bell 206L-4 Long Ranger Refurbishment Project

Project Overview
Generation Global was tasked with refurbishing the interior of a Bell 206L-4 Long Ranger helicopter. The refurbishment included executive seating, door panel inserts, flooring, and wrapping of interior panelling. Generation Global holds design data certified by EASA, CASA, and NZCAA for Bell 206 interiors. All parts for the Bell 206 are available for purchase on Generation Global’s online shop.

Interior Features and Design
The seating configuration for the Long Ranger consists of two Crew seats and five Pax seats, arranged in a club class setup. The seating design featured a silver on black color scheme with quilted inserts. Black leather (ADI-1091) was used throughout the interior, and all decorative stitching was done in silver thread. This included the double stitching on the outer seams, double diamond quilting (SA005) in the centre inserts, and the centre double stitch line on the seat bases. The seats also included ergonomically shaped headrests, particularly designed to accommodate the angle of the two aft-facing seats, with a double-stitched line framing the face of the headrest.

In addition to the seating, other essential interior components were upgraded. The door inserts were made with black leather and silver stitching to maintain a consistent aesthetic. A door-mounted documentation pocket was also added to the cockpit for added convenience. Other refinements included the installation of door pull handles and control boots.

For the flooring, black moonwalk flooring (also known as penny matting) was used throughout both the cockpit and cabin areas. The cockpit flooring was customized with numerous cutouts to accommodate the helicopter’s control mechanisms, while the cabin flooring extended up the seat bases of both the rear and aft-facing seats, ensuring a seamless and functional interior.
