THE PROJECT
For this interesting project, Generation Global supplied a set of crew seat backrest, bottom, and headrest covers along with new cushions for a medical BK 117 helicopter. Our client, based in northwest Germany, purchased these parts from Generation Global’s convenient online shop.

Our client chose a handsome but subdued Ancient Grey leather (ADI-1151) for their seats. The center inserts are perforated leather, which provides extra breathability and the curved Honeygrid quilting pattern (SA010) was done in the ancient grey-colored thread to match the leather. The seat covers and cushions were supplied as a kit to the client and installed by the operator in Germany.
The crew seats on a BK117 are high-backed and sport large, half-hexagonal headrests. This photo shows the same seat style in a different leather color fitted up to a BK 117 crew seat frame. The foam on the bottom and backrest of these crew seats is deeper than that of comparable seats and provides extra, ergonomic support. And the foam used on the leg lifts, back supports, and bolsters is GenLite brand, which is both exceptionally durable and very comfortable.
THE CLIENT
Our client for this project is an air ambulance operator who runs a sizable fleet of helicopters that provide support to the local offshore wind industry. In addition to offering medical evacuations to the engineers and construction workers who build and maintain turbines, this client also provides energy-industry personnel with basic air transport services.
