Cessna 152 – Seat Upholstery Refurbishment
The Project
This project involved Generation Global supplying and fitting replacement seat upholstery for a Cessna 152 aircraft. The upholstery kit included new seat dress covers and foam cushions, with installation and certification completed at Generation Global’s Nelson facility under their Part 145 Maintenance Approval. As part of the refurbishment, the seat frames were also restored, ensuring the seating met both comfort and safety standards.

The seat covers were crafted from Navy Blue (ADI-2021) aviation-grade leather, providing a sleek and durable finish.

A double-stitched seam runs down the centre insert, using matching blue thread for a cohesive and understated design.

Piping was added to the outer seams of the side bolsters, contributing to both the visual appeal and structural reinforcement.

The seat shaping was re-designed to offer enhanced comfort, featuring improved lumbar and lateral support—a welcomed upgrade for extended training flights and frequent use.
The Client
The client is an Aero Club based in the North Island of New Zealand, operating from a former domestic airfield. The club runs a comprehensive flight training school, complete with certified instructors, modern simulators, and classroom facilities. Their training fleet consists of various Cessna and Piper aircraft, reflecting a strong focus on both heritage and reliability in flight education.
