This project involved a comprehensive interior refurbishment for a Cessna 172S, completed and installed at Generation Global’s Nelson facility. The refurbishment scope included:

• Seat upholstery

• Sidewall trims

• Cockpit glare shield

Gallery – A Fresh Take on the C172S Cabin

The Cessna 172S (1996+) features dynamically tested seating, and our refurbishment elevated both comfort and appearance:

• Seating
  The seat dress covers were crafted in Savannah (SX007) aviation leather, a light, elegant tone ideal for modern interiors.

  • Perforated leather inserts improve breathability and occupant comfort

  • Contrasting piping along the edges adds definition and visual interest

• Sidewall Trims
  The 172S’s ABS plastic sidewall panels feature integrated insert sections designed for custom finishes.

  • These insert panels were reupholstered in Commando Fabric, a material chosen to complement the surrounding linen-toned interior

  • The result is a soft, cohesive visual contrast with long-lasting durability

• Glare Shield
  To complete the cockpit refresh, the glare shield was refinished in a dual-texture combination:

  • Matte black leather for a clean, professional look

  • Woven black fabric on key surfaces to reduce glare and UV reflection

The glare shield not only enhances cockpit aesthetics but also serves a functional purpose, reducing sun glare for improved instrument readability.
