Cessna 205 Interior Refurbishment Project: Restoring a Rare Aircraft
Project Overview
This project involved the comprehensive interior refurbishment of a Cessna 205, a rare aircraft with only 600 units ever produced. The aircraft had suffered from minimal maintenance for 18 years before the Generation Global team stepped in to restore it to its former glory. This particular Cessna 205 was one of the last models produced before it was replaced by the Cessna 206. Our team worked diligently to refurbish the linings, carpets, furnishings, and more, bringing this rare aircraft back to life with a fresh, modern interior.

For the Cessna 205, we provided and installed white fabric-ribbed headlining (F02), which added a clean, contemporary look to the aircraft’s interior. The upper window trims were finished with bright Arctic vinyl, giving the aircraft a bright and modern aesthetic. For the lower sidewalls, we chose a white vinyl called Ghost, which provided a sophisticated contrast to the lead grey leather used on the seating.
The flooring of the aircraft was upgraded with ash carpets, creating a neutral and refined foundation. This carpet was also extended onto the bases of the sidewalls, seamlessly integrating with the overall design. Each section of carpeting featured black mesh binding on both the outer edges and where it met the seat tracks, adding an extra level of polish and durability.
As part of the comprehensive interior furnishing work, we also upgraded all of the aircraft's seats. The frames of the non-articulating seats were repainted in satin black for a sleek, modern look. Our team then replaced the diaphragms and cushions, and crafted new seat covers using lead grey leather (ADI-1111). The inserts of the seats featured perforated leather for added texture and comfort, while all stitching was done with rich, blue-hued thread, providing a subtle but striking contrast against the leather.
