THE PROJECT
This project involved Generation Global supplying new crew seat covers for a Diamond DA 42 NG aircraft. These parts are a one-piece dress cover including the in-built control boot. The seats come as left- and right-hand seats. The dress covers were manufactured from Titanium Grey (ADI-1231) aviation leather. In the centre insert panels, the leather was perforated and quilted with decorative stitching. The quilting used the ‘Curve Honeygrid’ (SA010) design which gives the seat quite a smart look. All decorative stitching including both the seams and quilting was colour matched to the leather.
THE CLIENT
The client is one of Europe's elite flight training organisations and offers students the training needed to graduate as commercial pilots having gained the EASA ATPL accreditation. They operate a fleet of Piper PA-28-161 and Diamond DA 42 aircraft. The Piper aircraft allow students to learn the rigors of analogue instrument flying before transferring to the more modern Diamond aircraft to learn the all-glass avionics that are found in commercial airliners.
