THE PROJECT

Being a private jet puts this project on the higher end of the light aircraft category. The aircraft was an Embraer Phenom 300, which is a smart aircraft with two crew seats and six passenger seats making it an ideal aircraft for executive travel.

The interior was removed from the aircraft by the aircraft engineers and packed into wooden crates to be shipped to Generation Global’s Nelson facility. The parts were then refurbished, providing a more contemporary look to the interior. The seats were designed to reflect the look of a luxury sports car. The cabin sidewalls, cabinetry, and bulkheads were refinished, and new carpet floor coverings were supplied.

The interior colorings were in black and white tones with timber cabinetry tinted to a dark complimentary shade. The cabin lower sidewall in the cabin is a timber finish with the armrest on the top wrapped in charcoal leather. The upper sidewalls which extend to the ceiling are wrapped in a white (Swan 3811) Ultraleather fabric.

The aft bulkhead adjacent to the bathroom is wrapped in white Ultraleather fabric. This area can be shut off from the passenger cabin with a sliding door. The padded toilet seat can be lifted to access the toilet or used as an auxiliary seat for passengers. The carpet used in the cabin floor coverings was Tapis (Hamden CELHAM225) which runs the length of the aircraft with a dropped center aisle.

The seats in the aircraft were redesigned to give them a more stylish look. This included a re-design of the seat covers and changes to some of the shaping of the headrests. The stitching on the seat face was designed to recreate some elements with the curved lines and the stitch lines that define the center insert. The leather used for the seat covers is Italian leather in the color Lino (2282) and is stitched using charcoal thread.

The cockpit in the aircraft was designed to match the cabin. The cockpit lower sidewall panels are wrapped in charcoal leather and the upper sidewalls and ceiling are wrapped in white Ultraleather. The crew seats for the pilots were recovered using charcoal sheepskin, charcoal leather boarders, and white stitching. The floor coverings in the cockpit were charcoal high-grip vinyl flooring.
