Gippsaero GA8 – Plush Interior Refurbishment
The Project
The Gippsaero GA8 is a rugged, eight-seater aircraft designed primarily for passenger, freight, and reconnaissance services in remote areas. Known for its utilitarian design, the GA8’s interior is typically basic and functional. For this project, Generation Global partnered with Gippsaero and its parent company, Mahindra Aerospace, to enhance the interior of a client’s GA8 with a more refined and comfortable design. Seats

Lead Grey Leather Upholstery: The seats, originally designed for utility, were re-upholstered with Lead Grey leather (ADI-1111), offering a more polished and professional look.

Titanium Grey Perforated Inserts: To add texture and visual interest, SP-1 perforated Titanium Grey leather (ADI-1231) was used for the seat inserts. The perforation provided both aesthetic appeal and added comfort.

Horizontal Stitching: The inserts featured clean, horizontal stitch lines, done with a thread that matched the Titanium Grey leather, ensuring a cohesive design.

Vertical Seam & Outer Seatbelt Cutout: Each seat was crafted with a precise vertical seam along the base and a custom cutout for the outer seatbelt, ensuring both functionality and a clean look.

Embroidered Seat Backs: For added personalization, the seat backs were embroidered with custom text, as requested by the client.

Convenient Seatback Pockets: Practicality was incorporated with pockets on the seat backs, providing additional storage space for passengers.
Flooring

Zimmer Carpet with Black Binding: For the carpeted sections of the GA8, Zimmer carpet with black binding was used. The choice of material and binding created a sharp and professional look for the interior flooring.

Vinyl Flooring with Moonwalk Graphite: The vinyl sections of the flooring were fitted with Moonwalk in Graphite with matching colored binding. This material provided a modern contrast to the carpet and was well-suited for the high-traffic areas of the cabin.

Precise Cutouts for Anchors: Given the GA8's layout, precise cutouts were necessary around anchor points in the flooring to ensure a perfect fit and functionality.
Result
Through the collaboration with Gippsaero and Mahindra Aerospace, the Gippsaero GA8 was transformed from a basic, utilitarian interior to a more plush and comfortable space for passengers. The combination of Lead Grey leather, Titanium Grey perforated inserts, and modern vinyl flooring created a cohesive and sophisticated cabin.
The work done on this GA8 not only enhanced the overall aesthetic but also added a level of comfort and practicality with embroidered seat backs, seatback pockets, and custom-fitted flooring. This refurbishment demonstrates Generation Global’s commitment to providing high-quality, tailored solutions for aircraft interiors, even in the most utilitarian designs.
