The Project:
For this project, the Generation Global team provided a full interior kit for a Hughes 269C helicopter, a light utility aircraft commonly used in agricultural operations. The kit included seating, door inserts, and carpet floor coverings. Custom design elements were incorporated, with attention to both aesthetic appeal and durability, ensuring the interior suited the needs of this versatile aircraft.

  • Seating:
    The seating arrangement in the Hughes 269C features a three-seater bench-style seat in the bubble cabin. The left and right seats were upholstered using two tones of leather.

    • Base: The base leather is charcoal grey leather (ADI-1121), providing a sleek, dark backdrop.

    • Inserts: The inserts are upholstered in titanium grey leather (ADI-1231), offering a contrasting light tone for a visually appealing effect.

    • Stitching: Double-stitching was used on the outer seams, with titanium grey stitching, ensuring a polished and professional finish.

    • Embroidery: The Schweizer logos were embroidered onto the upper backrests of both the left and right seats, using matching titanium grey thread to enhance the helicopter's brand identity.

  • Door Inserts:

    • The door inserts were created with charcoal grey leather to match the seating, and the stitching was done in titanium grey to maintain consistency.

    • Each door featured two insert panels at the lower ends, crafted from plastic backing and wrapped in leather, ensuring durability while adding to the overall sleek design.

  • Floor Coverings:

    • The flooring provided for this helicopter included Zimmer carpet, which was edged with black binding for a clean and durable edge.

    • The flooring set consisted of a main floor piece with cutouts for controls and durable heelmats made from MW-200 vinyl. These floor sections ensure longevity and easy maintenance in the operational environment of the helicopter.

    • Additionally, custom carpet pieces were provided for the side consoles beneath the center seat, wrapping around the seat bases and attaching securely using velcro for easy installation and removal.

This Hughes 269C refurbishment offers a high-quality, functional interior with durable materials designed to withstand the demands of agricultural tasks while maintaining an elegant, professional look.
