MD500 Helicopter Flooring Installation – Custom Vinyl Flooring by Generation Global
Project Overview
In this project, Generation Global supplied and personally installed a custom vinyl flooring set for a client’s MD500 helicopter. The vinyl floor set used is compatible with the MD500 C/D models, and we also offer another version specifically designed for MD500 E models. The new flooring enhances both the durability and functionality of the helicopter's interior.

MD500: A Tough and Versatile Aircraft
The MD500 series, including the MD369/500 C/D models, is known for its rugged durability and exceptional maneuverability. As a light utility helicopter, the MD500 is often used in demanding environments that require high payloads and versatile performance. To meet these needs, C/D models commonly feature durable vinyl flooring, which is perfect for protecting the cabin against wear and tear in challenging conditions.
Custom Vinyl Flooring for MD500 C/D Models
For this installation, we used black Genflor vinyl flooring (MW-200), a high-quality, textured flooring material that provides added traction. The surface of the flooring is designed with raised circular grips, ensuring that crew members and passengers have extra stability while moving inside the aircraft.
The Velcro underside of the flooring allows for easy attachment to the airframe, securing the flooring in place while still allowing for flexibility and ease of maintenance. This design ensures that the flooring stays durable over time, even in heavy-use environments.
Customized Flooring for Extended Center Dash
The MD500 cabin is divided into forward and aft sections, with inserts commonly fitted at the base of the cabin divider in the aft area. For this specific project, the Generation Global team made custom changes to accommodate the helicopter’s extended center dash, ensuring a seamless fit and a more refined finish to the interior.
