Piper PA-38 Tomahawk – Complete Interior Kit Refurbishment
The Project
The Piper PA-38 Tomahawk is a lightweight, two-seat trainer aircraft produced in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Known for its agility and affordability, it’s a popular choice for student pilots. For this project, a client based in the United States purchased a full interior refurbishment kit via the Generation Global website. The order included seat covers, cushions, carpets, armrests, control grip covers, and a glareshield cover, all of which came with applicable certification for airworthiness and installation.

Seats

Black Leather Base (ADI-1091): The seat covers were crafted in a sleek black leather, giving the cockpit a polished and modern look.

SA001 Diamond Quilted Inserts: Each seat’s center insert featured SA001 diamond quilting, sewn with black thread for a subtle, textured finish.

Dark Red Leather Piping (ADI-3021): To elevate the design, the outer seams of the seats were finished with contrasting dark red piping.

Embroidered Piper Logo: Using the same red leather tone, the Piper logo was embroidered onto the backrest of each seat—an elegant and personalized touch.
Carpets

Black City Carpet (WN-120): The aircraft’s carpet set was made from durable Black City carpet, creating visual cohesion with the seating.

Three-Piece Layout: The set included two footwell mats and a rear baggage area mat, all trimmed with black mesh binding for durability and a clean finish.
Additional Interior Details

Armrests & Control Grip Covers: These were also supplied in black leather (ADI-1091) to match the seats. The control grip covers were hand-sewn by the client for a snug and tailored fit.

Black Vinyl Glareshield Cover: Designed for UV resistance and durability, the glareshield was made from high-performance black vinyl, blending seamlessly into the interior’s refined look.
Result
This project showcases how Generation Global’s off-the-shelf solutions can deliver a fully cohesive and custom-feeling interior for a compact aircraft like the PA-38 Tomahawk. The combination of black leather, diamond quilting, red accents, and UV-resistant vinyl gave this training aircraft a high-end, sporty edge.
