The Project

This project involved the complete interior refurbishment of a Piper PA-38 Tomahawk, expertly carried out by Generation Global at their Nelson facility. The refurbishment included:

  • Seating

  • Floor coverings

  • New plastics

  • Miscellaneous trim

The Piper PA-38 Tomahawk is known for its simple, clean, and open cabin design, offering two seats, low sidewalls, and large windows that provide excellent visibility. Here's a look at the highlights of the refurbishment:

  • Seating
    The seats were fully refurbished with new diaphragms, foam cushions, and leather covers.

    • The Lead Grey (ADI 1111) aviation leather used for the seat covers matched the armrests and center console between the seats.

    • The perforated leather inserts enhanced comfort, while the Cessna logo was embossed into the seatbacks for a personalized touch.

    • Titanium Grey stitching was used to complement the sidewall trim, unifying the overall design.

  • Plastic Interior Kit
    The plastic interior parts were reinstalled and painted in Titanium Grey, harmonizing beautifully with the rest of the interior.

    • All decals and labeling were replaced with fresh, high-quality stickers, ensuring the interior looked like new.

  • Glare Shield & Miscellaneous Trim
    The glare shield and various trim elements were wrapped in Liquorice synthetic leather, adding a sleek, modern finish.

    • The control yokes and hand grips were meticulously rewrapped in leather, hand-stitched to perfection.

  • Floor Coverings
    The floor coverings made a significant visual impact, especially when entering the aircraft.

    • Manufactured from Diva (NAI 11027) cut-pile carpet, the flooring provided a rich, luxurious look that complemented the overall interior upgrade.
