THE PROJECT

For this project, our team provided a utility interior in an AS350 helicopter. The interior included crew seating, rear bench seat squabs, and heavy-duty floor coverings., leather crew seats, and rear seat squabs. All parts seen here are available on Generation Global’s website.

The crew seats in this AS350 are quite different from those on many other aircraft; they have a composite seat shell bucket in place of a frame and the seat cushion sits directly in the bucket seat. The seat covers and cushions are of the Crew Generation III style. The seat cushions are shaped to provide side bolster and lumber support and are attached using two velcro strips to hold them each in place. Each cover was made from lead grey leather (ADI-1111) - a durable, high-wear material - and sported piping around its outer edges.

The two rear utility fold-down bases have two-place squabs fitted; the backrest and bottom squabs are attached with leather strips to link them together. All cushions are made from Genlite foam and the seat covers are made with lead grey leather (ADI-1111) with piped edges to match the crew seats. The bottom squabs feature webbing straps on the outboard boarders to retain the seat belts in place.

For this helicopter’s floor coverings, we installed heavy-duty, black Genflor (MW-200) vinyl flooring. The flooring is bound with black binding and is held in place with velcro on the underside. Precise cutouts are made in the floor covering so they can fit around the dual sliding doors and seat rails.
