Custom AS350 Helicopter Interior – A Bold and Functional Upgrade by Generation Global
Project Overview
For this project, Generation Global supplied a full interior refurbishment for an AS350 helicopter, also known as the “Squirrel.” With over 50 years of history, the AS350 is a popular light utility helicopter, and this particular project involved outfitting the aircraft with new seating, flooring, headlining, bulkheads, and control boots for a client in Australia.
Bold Lime Green Accents and Custom Seating Design
The standout feature of this AS350 is the Generation III design seating with donut headrests that perfectly complement the lime-green exterior paint scheme. The seats are upholstered in black leather (ADI-1091), with lime-green stitching that mirrors the bold branding of the helicopter. At Generation Global, we pride ourselves on paying attention to even the smallest details to ensure a perfect match.
The seat inserts feature a Curve Honey Grid (SA010) quilting pattern, stitched using state-of-the-art computer quilting machines. This intricate quilting, along with the double stitching on the outer seams, is done in lime-green Serafil 92 thread, ensuring both durability and style.
Comfort and Practicality for Passengers
The rear fold-down passenger seat bases are equipped with foam inserts and covered in black synthetic leather (ADI-1091), matching the black materials used on the headlining and bulkheads. This cohesive design enhances both the aesthetic and comfort of the helicopter interior.
Durable and Practical Flooring and Accessories
For the flooring, we supplied vinyl with plush carpet overmats that can be easily installed when needed. The base utility vinyl penny matting flooring is matt black, which is durable and easy to maintain. To complete the sleek look, we provided Gen-floor WN-120 Black City carpet mats as overmats, and black leather control boots (ADI-1091) that blend seamlessly with the flooring, ensuring a cohesive top-to-bottom color scheme.
