AW 109 Interior Upgrade
THE PROJECT
For this project, Generation Global upgraded the interior of a client’s AW 109 helicopter. This involved repairing damaged plastic components, rewrapping the paneling, and providing new carpets to enhance both the aesthetics and functionality of the helicopter.
THE GALLERY
We began by removing the paneling from the sliding doors, ceiling, and bulkhead trims, stripping the pieces down to their base plastic. The damaged seat surroundings were repaired, and once this was complete, we wrapped all exposed plastic parts in Olympus White vinyl for a fresh, sleek look.
The old carpets were replaced with a new Black City carpet set, while the previous tawny-colored carpets were removed. The lower surrounds of the footwell, which originally featured a faux walnut finish, were tinted with a gloss black finish, alongside the sliding door accent trims. Additionally, we provided a secondary rear flooring mat and new pieces for the forward cabin to cover the sunken footwell surrounds and center console.
Our team also performed a deep clean and valet of the cabin and cockpit interiors, which included cleaning and conditioning the leather seat coverings. All seat belts were rewebbed, and seat buckles and latches were reconditioned. Finally, we cleaned and polished the two rear cabin sill plates, which feature the Augusta Grand insignia, before applying a final protective coating.
