AW139 Helicopter – Crew Seat Cover Replacement
THE PROJECT
This project involved Generation Global supplying and fitting replacement crew seat covers for an AW139 helicopter. The package included one-piece seat covers, armrest covers, and a removable headrest cover. These parts are EASA certified through a Part 21J minor change approval. THE GALLERY
The seat coverings were manufactured from high-quality Scottish leather in Grey SF078. The center inserts of the seat covers were perforated with the HP1 perforation pattern, providing breathability in the backrest and bottom sections of the seat. This is especially crucial for pilots flying for extended periods. The stitching is perfectly matched to the grey leather.
The one-piece seat cover design allows the seatbelts to feed through slots in the seat back. The back shell cover conceals the seat mechanisms and frame. The armrests are designed to fold up and tuck neatly into the seat frame when not in use.
THE CLIENT
The client is an international helicopter operator, primarily serving the oil and gas industry. Their services include transporting staff and supplies to and from offshore rigs. With a fleet of 162 helicopters dedicated to the oil and gas sector and an additional 88 helicopters for medical and air ambulance services, the company has developed a strong working relationship with Generation Global over many years.
