Project Highlight: Interior Upgrade for Bell 206L LongRanger
The Bell 206 series has earned a reputation as one of the most widely-used and dependable utility helicopters in the world. With over 50 years in production, it's no wonder that our team at Generation Global frequently works on these aircraft.
For this project, we had the pleasure of outfitting a Bell 206L LongRanger—a stretched, seven-seat variant of the classic Bell 206. Our work included a full seating refurbishment, a custom center console, and precision-cut carpets. All products featured here are available for purchase on our website under Bell 206 interior parts.
Interior Configuration & Seating Design
The Bell 206L LongRanger features a unique cabin layout with:

A row of three forward-facing passenger seats

Two aft-facing executive seats, opposite the main row
For each of these seats, we used smooth chocolate leather (ADI-4181) paired with matching stitching to achieve a rich, elegant finish.
Seat Refurbishment Details
We didn’t just recover the existing seats—we rebuilt them from the frame up:

New seat slings

Genlite seat foam inserts

Hand-fitted leather covers crafted and installed at our Nelson, NZ facility
Each crew seat was enhanced with movable lumbar support, operated via discrete pull tabs for on-the-fly adjustment. Meanwhile, the rear passenger seats were styled with sharp horizontal stitch lines, adding both comfort and sophistication.
Headrests & Center Console Finishings
The aft-facing executive seats have headrests that align directly with those of the forward crew seats, due to the back-to-back layout. Each was custom-wrapped in the same chocolate leather, ensuring a cohesive cabin appearance.
We also crafted a matching center console positioned between the executive seats. Featuring fine-line edge stitching, the console offered both practicality and a touch of refinement—an understated yet stylish cabin detail.
Custom Carpets & Floor Finishing
Flooring is often overlooked, but it plays a crucial role in tying an interior together. For this project, we installed precision-cut Bastille carpets with:

Coverage for the front floor mats

Carpeted flooring between the rear seats

Coverage beneath the seat platforms
All carpet pieces were trimmed with matching edging, offering a seamless integration with the rest of the cabin materials.
A Larger Interior Job with a Flawless Finish
Although the seven-seat Bell 206L presented a slightly larger-than-usual interior scope, our team handled it with precision and professionalism. From ergonomics to aesthetics, the completed cabin delivered a comfortable, coordinated, and stylish environment that met the client’s expectations.
