Cessna 172L Interior Refurbishment for Canadian Client
Generation Global was tasked with providing a complete interior refurbishment for a Cessna 172L aircraft owned by a client in Canada. The project involved supplying new sidewall linings and a full floor covering set. Special attention was given to ensuring the new interior parts seamlessly matched the existing color scheme while also accommodating some custom design requests.
Custom-Fabricated Sidewall Linings
Design and Material Selection
The sidewall trim panels were provided as a complete fabricated kit, which included shaped backing panels and high-quality upholstery. For the two forward sidewall panels, we used computer-cut pressed aluminum with a rolled lip along the edges to ensure a clean and professional finish where the panels meet the windows.
The upholstery on the panels was custom-designed to mirror the aircraft's exterior graphics. The design featured a swirl pattern that matched the paint scheme on the aircraft, adding a unique touch to the interior.
Premium Materials
We used titanium grey microfibre leather for the central panel of the sidewalls, while the top layer was crafted from marine leather (SF-104) for durability and a luxurious feel. The bottom section of the sidewall was covered in Royal carpet (WN-120), with the edges bound in the same titanium grey microfibre leather, ensuring a cohesive and high-end look.
To enhance functionality, we also incorporated a clear pocket sewn into the forward kick panel for storing flight documentation. The armrests were also finished in titanium grey microfibre leather, complete with matching stitching for a polished appearance.
Custom-Fit Floor Covering Set
Matching Royal-Colored Carpet
For the floor coverings, we provided a complete set of royal-colored carpet, matching the tones used in the sidewalls. The carpet was edged with blue mesh binding, giving the floor a tailored and professional finish.
To increase durability in high-wear areas, we included heel mats to protect the carpet from excessive wear and tear, ensuring the interior retains its fresh appearance for longer.
