THE PROJECT: Custom Flooring & Headlining for Cessna C208 Caravan Skydiving Aircraft

The Cessna C208 Caravan is renowned for its versatility and reliability, often used in roles ranging from cargo transport to bush flying. For this unique project, Generation Global supplied custom aviation flooring and vinyl headlining for three Caravans operating in commercial skydiving. These aircraft were specially configured for skydiving operations, utilizing bench seating and interior hand holds in place of traditional passenger seating.

Our team delivered three complete Genflor flooring kits and one customized vinyl headliner, tailored to meet the rigorous demands of a high-use, high-traffic environment typical of skydiving aircraft interiors.

The flooring kits were crafted from Genflor MW-200 Black Moonwalk, a heavy-duty aviation carpet designed for durability and grip. Each floor mat was CNC laser-cut to ensure precise fitment, especially around custom seat track cutouts for the skydiving bench seats. For added convenience and security, the flooring was backed with self-adhesive Velcro, allowing for easy installation and removal during routine maintenance.

To ensure accuracy, we often send paper templates for approval before cutting β€” an essential step for custom aircraft interiors, especially when modifications like bench seat configurations are involved.

The vinyl headlining was manufactured in charcoal grey, offering a clean, low-reflective finish suited for high-performance interiors. This ribbed headliner allowed us to reuse the existing aircraft struts, which were threaded through fabric loops sewn along the seams. The headliner also featured three zippered maintenance access panels, offering technicians easy access to the aircraft ceiling without requiring full removal of the paneling.
