Diamond DA-40 – Replacement Seat Upholstery & Refurbishment

The Project

This project involved replacement seat upholstery for a Diamond DA-40 aircraft, which included new seat covers for both the forward bucket seats and the aft bench seat, in-built control boots, and replacement floor coverings. These parts are currently being uploaded to Generation Global’s online shop for easy access. Click here to view Diamond Aircraft interior parts on the online shop.

Gallery – Materials & Finish

  • The seats were upholstered in a luxurious Truffle Brown (ADI-4141) aviation leather, offering a rich and sophisticated tone.

  • The centre inserts were perforated (HP1) to provide breathability, while the control boots were covered in matching leather to maintain a cohesive design throughout.

  • Decorative stitching was done in a lighter contrasting tone, accentuating the seat lines and complementing the overall design, ensuring both comfort and style.

The Client

The client is a university-operated flight training aviation school located in the central North Island of New Zealand. The school operates a fleet of Diamond aircraft, along with flight simulators, and is housed in a purpose-built facility on the local airfield. Students who complete the program graduate with a Bachelor of Aviation, an excellent foundation for entering the world of commercial aviation.
