The Project: Diamond DA42 Seat Replacement
The Diamond DA42 Twin Star, manufactured by Austrian-based Diamond Aircraft Industries, has become a popular choice among aviation training academies and surveillance operators due to its modern design and reliability.
For this refurbishment, Generation Global supplied new front and rear seat upholstery, replacing the full seat coverings with our precision-fitted, custom-made kits. These parts, as well as those for the DA20 and DA40, are available on our online store and are supported with applicable aviation certification to ensure compliance.

The newly upholstered seats were finished in Titanium Grey aviation leather (ADI-1231), matched with colour-coordinated thread for a cohesive and professional aesthetic.

The front seating accommodates the aircraft's unique yoke configuration, where the controls are mounted between the pilot and co-pilot's legs, with a top-opening canopy granting access to the cockpit.
For the rear cabin, access is provided by a gull-wing door on the port side. The rear bench seat features a one-piece base cushion and two individual backrests, both upholstered to match the front seats. The built-in armrest and lower seatback were also covered in matching leather, creating a unified and luxurious cabin look.
Additionally, the rear seatbacks are designed to fold forward, allowing access to the rear luggage compartment, a functional upgrade that maintains the aircraft’s utility while elevating its visual appeal.
