The first of Originair’s BAE Jetstream 32 aircraft has just completed its extensive interior installation, marking a significant milestone in the airline’s journey. This afternoon, the aircraft’s interior was finalized, with a combination of custom-designed seating, fresh upholstery, and other upgrades that enhance both the aesthetics and comfort for passengers.
The team working behind the scenes to bring this vision to life included Brent Hill and Eddie Field from Generation Global, as well as Matt Ashton from RepairCraft, who managed the line maintenance. Their dedication and expertise have resulted in an aircraft interior that perfectly reflects the modern, functional, and stylish vision of Originair.
Custom-Designed Interiors for a Modern Travel Experience
The BAE Jetstream 32, originally built in the late 1980s, underwent a complete refit to match Originair’s vision for the aircraft's comfort and style. The upgrades included padded leather seats with yellow detailing, fresh carpet installation, and an overall modernization of the interior to create a sleek and comfortable environment for passengers.
The aircraft boasts a 19-seat configuration in a 2×1 off-set seating arrangement, ensuring that each seat offers ample space for travelers. The addition of a pressurised cabin and twin turbo-prop engines makes this aircraft not only stylish but functional for regional flights.

Founded by Robert Inglis and Nicki Smith earlier this year, Originair is focused on directly linking Nelson, Palmerston North, and Wellington with reliable air services. The airline’s goal is to offer more convenient and accessible travel options for New Zealand residents and visitors alike.
