Complete Interior Refresh for 369D Helicopter by Generation Global
Project Overview
The 369D, a popular light utility helicopter originally manufactured by Hughes Helicopters and now part of the MD Helicopters 500 series, recently underwent a full interior refresh by Generation Global. Our team worked closely with the client to update the seating, cyclic boots, firewall wrapping, and paneling to enhance both the functionality and aesthetic of the helicopter.
Sleek and Professional Interior Design
For this project, we chose lead grey leather (ADI-1111) for the seat upholstery, which gives the interior a muted yet professional look. To improve comfort and breathability, perforated leather inserts were incorporated into the seat covers for both the front and rear seats, providing a modern touch while ensuring comfort for both pilots and passengers.
The two front seats were composed of a back and base, both mounted directly on the cabin divider. In addition to the new seat covers, we also provided new foam cushions for these seats. As a finishing touch, we embossed the MD Helicopters logo onto each front seat backrest, creating a distinctive and branded design.
Rear Seating and Modernized Sling Design
The rear seats featured a bench layout with military-style slings. We upgraded the slings with modern black mesh material, using braided cord for enhanced tension and durability. Once the slings were securely in place, we installed the newly designed seat covers and cushions, ensuring a comfortable and cohesive seating solution for all passengers.
Durable Synthetic Leather Paneling
The rear panel was carefully wrapped in durable synthetic leather, with each section sized and wrapped individually. To enhance the shape and design of the panels, we added seams in certain sections. Additionally, we covered the rear bulkhead pockets with Lead Grey Leather (ADI-1111), bringing a unified and cohesive look to the overall interior.
