Project Overview: Israeli Airline - Boeing 787 Dreamliner Crew Seat Covers

Client:
A large, Israeli-based airline operating from Ben Gurion Airport, with a global reach across Europe, Asia, Africa, and North America. The airline flies an all-Boeing fleet, including Boeing 737, 777, and 787 Dreamliners, offering high-quality international flights to over 50 destinations worldwide.

Project Scope:
Generation Global has designed, manufactured, and supplied certified seat covers for the crew seats on the airline’s fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliners. These seat covers are intended for the Captain, First Officer, and Flight Crew seats, with a focus on ensuring comfort, durability, and aesthetic quality for long-haul flights.

Design Features:

  • Premium Materials:
The seat covers are crafted using New Zealand sheepskin (Oxford Grey) for the front faces of the bottom and backrest covers, with wool fabric from New Zealand for the side borders. These materials are chosen for their comfort and longevity, particularly for the long hours spent by cabin crew in these seats.

  • Pocket Placement:
The design includes pockets on both the Captain and First Officer seats, positioned left for Captain and right for First Officer, ensuring practical use for cockpit essentials.

  • Certified and Durable:
All parts of the seat cover kit come with EASA certification and the required documentation, guaranteeing they meet international aviation safety standards. The covers are designed to withstand heavy use and maintain comfort throughout their lifespan.

  • Ergonomic Design:
The sheepskin seat covers are intended to address the needs of crew members who spend long hours in the cockpit. These seats, due to their high wear and tear, require regular replacement, and these covers ensure comfort while reducing fatigue during lengthy shifts.

  • Long-Lasting Performance:
The estimated lifespan of the certified seat covers is approximately three years, with the ability to endure the rigorous demands of frequent usage, including being brushed, rubbed, and even used as handholds.

Operator’s Fleet Needs:

Long-haul international routes, especially those exceeding 12 hours, place significant stress on seat materials, which often don’t cater to the extended wear-and-tear of cockpit seats. By replacing these with certified, high-quality covers, the airline ensures comfort for their pilots, ultimately contributing to pilot safety and productivity. Pilots with comfortable, fresh seat covers are more likely to remain focused, sharp, and at the top of their game.

The Generation Global Contribution:

Generation Global’s seat covers are designed with the specific needs of cockpit crew in mind, where comfort and durability are essential for long-term performance. By replacing worn-out seats with luxury, long-lasting sheepskin covers, the airline enhances its flight crew's experience during extensive flights, ensuring their satisfaction and well-being.
