MD 500 Heavy Duty Floor Coverings & Utility Slings Project
Project Overview
Generation Global was tasked with supplying heavy-duty floor coverings and utility slings for the rear seats of an MD 500 helicopter. These custom solutions were designed to meet the specific needs of the client. MD 500 series interior parts are available for purchase on Generation Global’s online shop.
Interior Features and Design
The floor covering material selected by the client is a heavy-duty cream flecked vinyl flooring, chosen for its durability and aesthetic appeal. The vinyl material was custom-requested by the client and was precisely cut using a CNC laser cutter, ensuring perfect cuts and sealed edges. To further enhance the look, the edges of the floor covering were finished with a matching mesh binding for added durability and a clean finish.
The seat slings were crafted from a nylon-based mesh material, which features eyelets along the perimeter. This design allows the slings to be securely laced onto the seat frame using heavy-duty cord. Additionally, the mesh edges are bound with 20mm polyester binding, ensuring the slings remain robust and functional under heavy use.
Client Overview
The client is a light aircraft and helicopter operator based in New Mexico, with additional locations in Southern Chile, Mexico, and Alaska. The company operates a diverse fleet of aircraft, ranging from Cessna Citation Jets to Bell 407 helicopters, serving a variety of aviation needs across multiple regions.
