THE PROJECT
The R22 is a two-seater, light utility helicopter that’s been produced by the Robinson Helicopter Company for over forty years. For this project, we manufactured and installed new headlining and flooring for our client’s R22. All pieces are manufactured under an EASA Part 21G production approval and released under a Part 21J design approval. Every component used for this project is available on Generation Global’s website.

Our team used Graphite Moonwalk (MW-200) flooring edged with a light grey mesh for this project. This utility flooring isn’t very showy, but it sports a raised tread and a grippy surface, helping prevent slips. Carefully-measured cutouts provide spaces for the controls, heater configuration, and other raised parts.
For this aircraft’s headlining and rear bulkhead, we used a graphite headlining fabric (HL105) with a foam backing - subdued and practical. In total, there were two roof sections and one section for the rear bulkhead behind the rear seats. The headlining also included a special cutout for the roof window. We took the time to make sure each piece fit perfectly.
