Project Spotlight: Robinson R44 Full Interior Kit Installation
Generation Global recently completed a full interior kit installation for a Robinson R44 helicopter, transforming its cabin into a comfortable, stylish, and functional space. This installation was carried out in conjunction with the helicopter’s routine maintenance, ensuring that everything was seamlessly integrated into the aircraft. The Robinson R44 interior kit includes seats, carpet, door inserts, rear bulkhead panel, and headlining—each designed with precision and crafted from premium materials. GEN II Seats: Designed for Comfort and Style
The Robinson R44 features GEN II seats, a later model design that offers exceptional comfort and modern aesthetics. The upholstery was crafted using Charcoal Grey (ADI-1121) aviation leather, which was carefully stitched with matching double stitching for a clean, cohesive look. The seat backs are embossed with the R44 logo, adding a personalized touch that makes these seats stand out. Matching leather was used for the door inserts, creating a unified design across the interior.
Premium Carpet Flooring for Durability and Style
The floorcoverings in this Robinson R44 were finished with Genflor Zimmer (WN-120) cut-pile carpet, which blends durability with a luxurious feel. The carpet was bound with matching mesh binding, maintaining the cohesive look throughout the interior. To ensure the carpet’s longevity, we added clear acrylic protective heel mats in high-traffic areas, attached with domes for easy removal. This protective feature helps preserve the carpet while offering convenience for maintenance.
Headlining and Rear Bulkhead: Sophisticated and Functional
The headlining and rear bulkhead panel were crafted using Mako (HL-101) knitted fabric, which is both soft and durable. The headlining consists of four sections, with a cut-out for the overhead window. The fabric was expertly wrapped around foam panels and adhered directly to the ceiling using a spray contact adhesive. This ensures a smooth and seamless fit that complements the rest of the interior design.
