R22 Helicopter Interior Upgrade – Custom Headlining, Bulkhead Assembly, and Floorcoverings by Generation Global
Project Overview
For this project, Generation Global provided custom headlining, bulkhead assembly, and floorcoverings for an R22 helicopter undergoing maintenance. The parts were purchased through the Generation Global website, and our team was later contacted for the professional installation. This upgrade enhanced both the functionality and aesthetic of the helicopter’s interior, providing improved noise reduction and easy-to-clean surfaces.

Noise-Reducing Headlining and Bulkhead Assembly
The headlining and bulkhead assembly covered all surfaces above the seats, including the roof and aft fuselage. We used Geneva Grey (HL-108) foam-backed material, specifically designed to offer both a sleek appearance and effective noise reduction. This material is not only durable but also features special noise-absorbing foam that helps create a quieter environment inside the helicopter, enhancing passenger comfort.
The headlining was direct-stuck to the inside of the helicopter’s outer skin, ensuring a seamless, secure installation. This method also contributes to the overall soundproofing of the cabin, making flights more pleasant by reducing external noise.
Durable Vinyl Floorcoverings with Custom Cutouts
For the floorcoverings, we used Genflor Graphite (MW-200) vinyl flooring, a non-slip penny matting that’s both functional and easy to clean. This durable material provides a reliable surface for the helicopter's interior, making it ideal for maintenance environments. The grey mesh binding around the edges adds a neat and polished finish.
Similar to the headlining, the floorcoverings were direct-stuck with adhesive to the helicopter’s floor and lower sidewalls. Custom cutouts were made to accommodate floor heaters on both sides of the helicopter, ensuring that the installation was tailored to the helicopter's specific requirements.
