Robinson R44 Interior Upgrade – Customization by Generation Global

In this project, Generation Global’s team completed a comprehensive interior upgrade for a Robinson R44 helicopter. Our services included the installation of new carpets, headlining, seating, and crash rail covers—all tailored to enhance the comfort, safety, and style of this iconic rotorcraft.

Custom Headlining for R44 Helicopter
We provided a custom headlining made from foam-backed fabric, in a light opal color. Unlike many standard headlinings, this one is clean and simple, without cutouts for air conditioning or handholds. The seamless design contributes to a smooth and uncluttered look, adding to the modern appeal of the R44’s cabin.
Premium R44 Floorcoverings and Heelmats
For the R44 floorcovering, we installed Genflor Zimmer carpets (WN-120), which are renowned for their durability and style. The carpets are bound with mesh edges, ensuring a sleek, professional finish.
To further protect the flooring, we added perspex heelmats for both the pilot and co-pilot positions. These mats help protect the carpet from dirt and damage while maintaining a polished look.
Leather Upholstered Seats and Crash Rail Covers
The R44 seats were reupholstered with Charcoal Grey leather (ADI-1121), offering a sleek, durable finish that enhances both comfort and safety. We used a Generation II seat design, which is known for its superior ergonomics. As a special touch, we carefully embossed the R44 logo onto the backrests of four seats, adding a personalized and premium element to the helicopter's interior.
To protect passengers, we installed soft crash rail covers on the head-height rail behind the front passenger seats. These covers are foam-lined, providing added safety by acting as a cushion in the event of sudden movement. The covers are thick enough to double as a headrest, ensuring both safety and comfort for passengers.
Customized Seat Cushions and Storage Solutions
For maximum comfort, we equipped each seat with pre-cut Genlite foam segments that were securely glued to the base shells. The R44 passenger seats feature composite shell bases that are hinged on one edge for easy access to under-seat storage. This convenient storage space is easily accessible by lifting the seat, offering additional utility during flight.
